Friendship Manor is a faith-based, charitable Care Retirement Community in Rock Island, Illinois; offering Independent and Assisted Living Apartment Homes, Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitative and In-Home Services all at this one site – convenient and comfortable.

It is a non-profit community founded by the Illinois King’s Daughters and Sons back in 1979. In fact, residents and visitors have commented that ‘It feels like home’ so often that the phrase is now the theme for Friendship Manor. Silver Cross Nursing and Rehabilitation Pavilion at Friendship Manor is listed as one of the best nursing homes in Illinois and received deficiency-free surveys in 2010 and 2011. Friendship Manor Receives $15,673 Donation

Many heartfelt thanks to In His Name Service League for their donation of $15,672.99 to Friendship Manor in Rock Island, Illinois.

This generous gift will be used to remodel three Silver Cross Rooms, pay for some rehab equipment, purchase wheelchairs in specialty sizes, and to purchase a “Brain Fitness System” which is a memory enhancing computer-based exercise program.

Jeff Condit, Friendship Manor’s Development Director said, “Please join me in applauding In His Name Service League and the Country Store volunteers for their dedicated service and for their generous support of the Manor. Next time you’re in the Store tell the worker on duty “thanks”...or better yet, make it a point to say hello and thanks to as many volunteers as you can, especially to our dear Ruth Van Echaute and Mickey Dotson. May God bless all the volunteers associated with the store for their service to others “In His Name.”

Did you know that every dollar of profit generated by our Country Store is given back to the Manor? Everyone’s patronage is appreciated. Plus, it’s really convenient for milk, eggs, a special gift, or that occasional ice cream sandwich.

Friendship Manor Receives $150,000 Donation

ROCK ISLAND, IL - At the 113th Annual Convention of the Illinois Branch of the King's Daughters and Sons in Joliet, Illinois, the Branch voted to release $150,000 from its Assistance Fund to aid with Project#3, Pride of Friendship 2013, which is the renovation of resident rooms in the Manor's Silver Cross Health and Rehabilitation Pavilion.

Ruth VanEchaute, President of the Illinois Branch of the King's Daughters and Sons stated, "We are very happy to help Friendship Manor with this project. The rooms will be so cheerful and homey. It gives us great satisfaction to continue our tradition of 'lending a hand' to such a worthy project."

The 81 rooms will receive new paint, window dressings, phones, televisions, flooring and furniture. Last year, fundraising projects raised money for new hospital beds in each room. Ted Pappas, Jr., President/CEO of Friendship Manor said, "Our gratitude to the Illinois King's Daughters and Sons is immense. Their support throughout the years helps us to continue our mission of care for Quad Cities seniors."
