funds for “Children at Risk” and “Autism Ontario-Ottawa Chapter”

Ottawa, the nation’s capital, is an important city of the KDS, in that the city and its environs are home for a great number of members and Circles. Representative members from various Circles meet to address the operation of the organization at a local board level, known as the Ottawa City Union.

The objectives of the organization are met by providing an affordable apartment building to the needy (see pic below), donating bursaries and scholarships to students at three universities, and hosting various philanthropic events to support autism, literacy and other needs.

Ottawa is a beautiful city and you are invited to come and visit this section of IOKDS!!



Heather Whitehouse, President of Faith Circle, presents a cheque to L'Arche Hamilton Autism Initiative, on behalf of KDS.


Below Heather presents a cheque to a representative of the Welcome Inn Community Centre in Hamilton, in support of their literacy project.



President of Ottawa City Union, Jackie Maurais, gives Tracy Davidson, Chapter Manager for Development & Fundraising of Autism Ontario, a cheque for a new activity: Parent Advocacy Opportunity, which supports parents making their way through a new diagnosis with peer to peer support.
