Ottawa, the nation’s capital, is an important city of the KDS, in that the city and its environs are home for a great number of members and Circles. Representative members from various Circles meet to address the operation of the organization at a local board level, known as the Ottawa City Union.
The objectives of the organization are met by providing an affordable apartment building to the needy (see pic below), donating bursaries and scholarships to students at three universities, and hosting various philanthropic events to support autism, literacy and other needs.

Chapter Manager for Development & Fundraising of Autism
Ontario, a cheque for a new activity: Parent Advocacy Opportunity,
which supports parents making their way through a new diagnosis with peer
to peer support.
