located on Market Street in Bethlehem, PA.
2. We award Pennsylvania scholarships in various areas including Education,
Ministry, Health, North American Indian, Chautauqua and memorial schoplarships.
3. We support the International KDS Scholarships in the following departments: Health, Ministry, North American Indian and Chautauqua.

Other circle activities include:

There are numerous ways in which we raise funding for our activities:
we have a Hot Dog Wagon, Candy Sales, Longenberger Show, Hoagie Sales, Donut Sales, Pampered Chef Show, Napkin Sales, Quilt Raffles, etc.

As a member you are not limited to a particular area of concern; you may do whatever work is called for by the needs in your community or by your own interests. Having been a member for 40 years, I enjoy the fellowship and satisfaction I receive from helping the elderly, the homeless, and also cancer patients locally.

Circles are versatile and may consist of any variety of members: all women or men, husband and wives, juniors (students) or family circles. You can meet in members homes, churches or have breakfast/lunch meetings wherever and whenever is convenient for all of you.

Pennsylvania is always looking to grow and spread its wings. If you are
interested in learning more about the Pennsylvania Branch or in joining
or starting a circle, please e-mail me, the PA Branch President, Mary Jane Mackenzie at: mjshortie@verizon.net.

As our motto says:

Look up and not down,
Look forward and not back,
Look out and not in,
And lend a hand.

History
Women from Edisto Island have had a long tradition of Christian service. The Whatsoever Circle was organized January 13, 1888, and is the second oldest, continually operating IOKDS chapter in the United States. Mrs. Lucille Venning Mikell served as the Circle's first president. Beginning with a bazaar and plantation tour in 1963, the Whatsoever Circle is the sponsor for what has evolved into the annual Edisto Day Bazaar.

A "125th Anniversary Party" will be held on September 20, 2012, at Sunnyside Plantation, the site of the Circle's original meeting. Sunnyside was the home of founding member Mrs. Sarah Clark Mikell and is now the home of her great grand daughter who is a current member of our Circle. At this celebration we will have an opportunity to re-dedicate ourselves to the goals of King's Daughters, replicate a menu enjoyed over a century ago, enjoy heirlooms and the atmosphere of this ancestral lowcountry plantation home, and learn more about the history of our Circle and life on Edisto Island.

The chapter's name, Whatsoever Circle, is based upon scripture found in Philippians 4:8. "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

Edisto Day Bazaar
The annual Edisto Day Bazaar is held the first Saturday in May, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., at the Lions Club building, 2970 Myrtle Street, Edisto Beach. The bazaar is the Circle's only fundraiser. Proceeds benefit humanitarian projects and services for Edisto Beach and Island residents.
