The 48th General Convention was held recently in Virginia. The following International Officers were elected during the convention: President: Frances Sellew (VA); Vice President: Nan Pointer (VA); Secretary: Barbara Boulware (TX); Treasurer: Wyolene Pointer (VA); Around the World Director: Meredith Houghton (IL); Chautauqua Department Director: Patricia Bowen (ON); Health Careers Department Director: Joan Mangum (MS); Junior Department Director: Deb Hurd (OH); North American Indian Department Director: Joyce Morris (SC); Student Ministry Department Director: Vicky Rechkemmer (IA)


WORLD FAMOUS ARTIST CREATES PAINTING TO HELP IOKDS LITERACY FUND-RAISING

Frances SellewThousands of art collectors in the United States, Europe, and Japan have come to recognize, appreciate, and treasure Pat Moss’ work with its distinctive look and its great popular appeal. This year, she has crafted a unique painting that not only pays homage to and symbolizes the work of the IOKDS, but also will be used to raise funds for the Order. (more)

For King's Daughters and Sons from across North America who attended the 48th General Convention in Williamsburg, VA, the networking and fellowship was grand. Members gathered to celebrate the work which is accomplished every day by this extraordinary membership.

A highlight of the convention was Dr. David Craig, Director of The King's Daughters' School in Tennessee who spoke about the work being done with autistic children. (more)

Tom Houghton, IOKDS Illinois Branch Around the World Director, willingly gave of his time and talents during the summer of 2006, working with volunteer service teams in the Dominican Republic through Kids Alive International, an IOKDS endorsed project. [more]
