This month we will be celebrating Easter and that is a very important day in the life of a Christian. We celebrate Jesus' resurrection, which means He lives again. Isn't that wonderful? He died on the cross for you and for me. Can you imagine the dying for someone like that? He sacrificed his LIFE for us!

There are lots of things that we see at Easter that can remind us of this resurrection. Let's look at the Easter eggs. If you are like our house, you color them bright and pretty colors. This represents rebirth and resurrection. Another thing that we usually see in the Easter baskets or candy dishes are jelly beans. Have you heard the story of the jelly beans? Each color represents something and I will tell you about it right now.

GREEN IS FOR THE NEW SPRING GRASS.
YELLOW IS FOR THE SUN ABOVE.
BROWN IS FOR THE SOFT EARTH WHERE
PEOPLE SAT HEARING OF HIS LOVE.

PURPLE'S FOR THE ROBE HE WORK,
RED IS FOR THAT PRECIOUS WINE.
BLACK IS FOR THE SINS HE WASHED
FROM YOUR SOUL AND FROM MINE.

BLUE'S FOR THE SADNESS OF
HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY
AND WHITE IS FOR THE GLORY OF THE DAY
HE ROSE FOR YOU AND ME.

NOW THAT YOU'VE HEARD THE STORY
YOU KNOW WHAT EACH COLOR MEANS.
THE STORY OF OUR FATHER'S LOVE
AS TOLD BY JELLY BEANS.

EASTER CRAFT

Yellow pompoms          Empty egg carton
Wiggly eyes                Orange construction paper
Glue

Cut the egg carton cups from the egg carton. Trim small rectangles out so
looks like a cracked shell. Glue two pompoms on top of each other in
each cup to look like a chick. Glue two wiggly eyes on each one. Fold
small piece of orange construction paper in half and cut a triangle along
the fold so that when it is open it is diamond shaped. This will be the
chick's beak. Glue it under the eyes. Now you have a baby chick! You
can put these on the table for favors on Easter Day. Have fun Juniors!
HAPPY EASTER!

NEWS FROM "THE BRANCH" NEWSLETTER - TEXAS

Cleburne Charters New Junior Circle - the Sunshine Sisters

The Sunshine Sisters Circle was chartered on October 26, 2006. Lend A Hand Circle sponsored the newest junior circle along with Hearts of Gold Circle. The Sunshine Sisters consists of 9 members who are King's Daughters' legacies. This wonderful group of 5th graders are filled with the spirit and ready to work! Their first project was taking snack donations to the Johnson County Child Advocacy Center. They received a wonderful tour of the facility by Tammy King, the director. They are donating gifts to Cleburne City Union's Goodfellows and are helping pack the Goodfellow boxes. They also filled precious Christmas stockings to be included with some of the boxes. We hope that you will attend the State Convention this spring and meet these wonderful young ladies!
