The Junior Members of our Order are members who are ages birth through 17 years of age. These youth are an important part of our future. International dues for Junior Members, age birth through 17 years of age, are only $2.00 per year. Juniors may become Junior Members of Senior Circles, or, with the support of Senior Members, start their own Circles with as few as three members. Additional information is available from the International Junior Director, Deb Hurd, at 419-222-4310 or e-mail at: ganddhur@woh.rr.com . |

Happy
Valentine's Day Juniors!!! The International Order of The King's Daughters and Sons is special to each of us. We were asked to join and each of you share your talents and love of our Order so that you can reach out to others and serve In His Name. Since this is the "LOVE" month, wouldn't you LOVE to share the good works that you, as individuals or you, as Circles do for others? Invite your friends to join! For those of you who may be checking our website out for the first time and are wondering what we are all about, let me explain. We are one, if not, THE oldest Christian service group in existence. Can you imagine being part of that? The "Juniors" are members who are ages birth through 17 years of age. At that point, it is our hope that you will continue as Senior members (ages 18+) and carry on the works of our Order. What do we do, you ask? Our Order in general offers scholarships to people in Health Careers, North American Indians, Around the World, and Chautauqua Departments (see our website to view these different departments.) We also have Bible studies, prayers groups, a wonderful magazine called The Silver Cross, and we support and love each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. We have adopted two new projects recently and they are: 1) Literacy, and 2) Autism. Now on to the Junior Members; we have two Junior Camps: one in Indiana and one in Iowa that are open to the Junior members. The Indiana Camp has one week for girls and the one in Iowa has five weeks for girls and one week for boys. And believe me, these camps are a blast! The International Junior Project is putting together shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. This is where our members take a shoebox and wrap it in Christmas paper and fill it with items to send to children around the world who may not have anything. Can you imagine being a child who gets one of those boxes? I can just picture the huge smiles, can't you? Our Juniors also have many service projects and this list can go on and on but here are a few examples: making favors for nursing homes, reading or taking books to day cares, having parties for residents at assisted living facilities, have "wheelchair" washes (they wash and shine up peoples wheelchairs instead of cars), bake cookies for shut-ins, baby-sit for children and share bible stories with them, and the list goes on. Wouldn't it be fun to get involved with something like this? If you or your friends would like to start a Junior Circle in your area, I will be glad to help you get started. Just send me an e-mail at ganddhur@woh.rr.com and I will help you get started. As a matter of fact, I would LOVE to! Happy Valentine's

The Knights of the Trinity Junior Circle from Texas. NEWS FROM "THE BRANCH" NEWSLETTER - TEXAS Cleburne Charters New Junior Circle - the Sunshine Sisters
The Sunshine Sisters Circle was chartered on October 26, 2006. Lend A Hand Circle sponsored the newest junior circle along with Hearts of Gold Circle. The Sunshine Sisters consists of 9 members who are King's Daughters' legacies. This wonderful group of 5th graders are filled with the spirit and ready to work! Their first project was taking snack donations to the Johnson County Child Advocacy Center. They received a wonderful tour of the facility by Tammy King, the director. They are donating gifts to Cleburne City Union's Goodfellows and are helping pack the Goodfellow boxes. They also filled precious Christmas stockings to be included with some of the boxes. We hope that you will attend the State Convention this spring and meet these wonderful young ladies! |
