The
King's Daughters and Sons founded The King's Daughters' School in Columbia
Tennessee in September 1955, The school was established as a private
non-profit residential program for individuals with mental retardation.
Over the past forty-eight years, the school has served hundreds of individuals
from all over the United States and abroad. The King's Daughters' School
has grown from one building and a house to include eleven residential
homes, an education building, a gymnasium, an eight-acre camp site, and
several other amenities. As a front-runner in the field of mental retardation,
The King's Daughters' School developed into a program that serves individuals
of all ages. The program has expanded but remains true to its purpose.

JOIN US!
I joined The King's
Daughters and Sons... because a close friend... invited me to a Circle
meeting. I had learned about the work of the organization from my mother
while I was growing up... I was interested in joining a group of Christians,
coming from many church denominations who were serving others In His Name.
I knew we would have things in common.
Susan,
OH
First of all, it
is wonderful being part of such a terrific Christian organization. I have
met so many people over the years and have made so many friends. The Scholarship
Program helped me with leadership skills and I have used them in this
organization, in my profession, and in life in general.... IOKDS has become
a major part of my life and I can't imagine not being part of it.

Love the work of
the Order and the development of spirtitual life, the stimulation of Christian
activities is a part of my life. I am a 50-year member of the Ohio Branch.
I have learned a lot about our Order. I treasure the friendships made
through the years.
Doris,
OH
I especially enjoy
the camaraderie found whenever members get together. It doesn't matter
what Christian denomination we are from, or what political persuasion
we follow, we all share the same commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ,
and this commitment leads to a respect for each other that is refreshing
and welcome in today's society. Most of all, I cherish the exciting sense
of Christian joy I find among our members.
Walt,
PA
