Special Studies

May I choose classes from the Special Studies catalog?

Yes, almost every course offered on the Institution grounds is available to you. We do not provide transportation for any course offered off the grounds. $250 of your scholarship is reserved for Special Studies classes and $25 for materials. After you have used the allotted amount, any additional courses are at your own expense. No more than half of the $250 may be used for private music instruction. You will be asked to select a minimum of one class per week for Weeks 2 and 3 only. The classes are for personal enrichment and offer a supportive learning environment with students of all ages and skills.

What is required of me after the scholarship program ends?

You are expected to send a written report to the IOKDS Branch representative who sponsored your application.

How does the application process work?

If you are interested in applying for the Chautauqua Scholarship Program, contact your local IOKDS. If you don't know the name of a local contact, send an email stating your interest and location to:

iokds5@windstream.net

or write to:

International Order of The King’s Daughters and Sons
P.O. Box 1017
Chautauqua, NY 14722-1017

Phone: 1-716-357-4951

There are 3 stages - the questionnaire, the full application and an interview with the Chautauqua Department Director. Give your completed questionnaire to the Branch representative as soon as possible. It will be sent to the Chautauqua Department Director who will contact you and arrange for the next steps. The application process must be fully completed by March 1.
