A typical class
Recent classes have
ranged from about 10 to 16 students in size. Students come from all over
the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Egypt, Mexico, the Ukraine and the
United Kingdom, for example. Students come from a range of Christian faith
groups and are at different places along their faith journey. Many, but
not all, have a strong interest in music.

A typical day
Week 1 includes
orientation days and Week 4 includes several special closing events including
Order Night.
| Chapel
8:30 am. Monday to Friday |
Devotions for students
and staff are lead by the students in the Ida A. Vanderbeck Chapel.
This is an informal, personal time for class worship.

| Morning
Worship 9:15 am. Monday to Friday |
Chautauquans gather
in the amphitheater Monday through Friday, for worship. The 45-minute
service consists of hymn singing, scripture reading and a sermon by
the chaplain of the week. You will have the opportunity to take part
in this service by reading the scripture during morning worship.

10:45 am -11:45 am. Monday to Friday |
Chautautqua is platform
for some of the latest thinking in politics, economics, international
relations, literature, science and religion by world-renowned speakers.
The optional afternoon lecture at 2:00 p.m. in the Hall of Philosophy
offers you the opportunity to hear noted teachers and preachers and
enter into dialogue with them.

Studies Classes |
More than 400 special
interest classes are offered during the season. During Weeks 2 and 3,
you will be encouraged to select from a wide variety of classes in art,
business and finance, computer, dance, education, foreign language,
games and recreation, handcrafts and hobbies, health and fitness, literature
and writing, music, personal and professional development, religion
and philosophy.

the opportunity to hear and see the symphony, ballet, or popular
performers in a broad range of entertainment.
